Tegan York
During my time at Brooksbank Sixth Form, I grappled with the decision between Paramedicine and Paediatric nursing. With the guidance of excellent health and social teachers, I embarked on placements, volunteering at Calderdale Royal Hospital in the children's ward and A&E for two weeks. While spending two days on the paediatric ward, I realised it wasn't my calling. Instead, the fast-paced environment of A&E, where every moment brought unknown challenges, captured my interest.
This experience led me to explore paramedicine. I can honestly say it is incredibly rewarding, and I am excited for the rest of my career in this field.
Tegan’s message is
“If you have a passion for something - volunteer...”
“It is great for gaining experience and getting your foot through the door.”
