the school day
Our school day starts at 8.30am with registration in form rooms.
Once a week you will start the day with assembly in the main hall. Form tutors check in with their form to make sure they are ready for the day. School normally opens to students at 8.00am with access to the Learning Resource Centre and canteen.
The school day is made up of five periods of an hour each.
You’ll have a different set of subjects each day, each taught by your specialist subject teachers.
Your Brooksbank timetable runs over a fortnight, with ‘A’ and ‘B’ weeks. You’ll soon get used to the new routine.
You also have breaktime and lunchtime every day, when you can use the canteen, LRC (Learning Resource Centre) or outside spaces.
The school day finishes at 2.40pm, leaving you with plenty of time for extracurricular activities, homework and hobbies.
All students are expected to eat their lunch on school premises.
Students in Years 12-13 are allowed off site at lunchtime providing they have a signed permission slip in their student planner. The school reserves the right to remove this privilege for any individuals if poor behaviour warrants it.
