Mr D Atkinson, Head of School
As head of the school Mr Atkinson’s primary responsibility lies in ensuring student achievement across all stages and year levels. Collaborating closely with our teachers and support staff, evaluating progress and attainment, implementing supportive strategies for all students and establishing the necessary framework for students to reach their academic goals during their time with the school.
Mr Atkinson says:

Mrs Z Puddephatt, Deputy Head of School
With 24 years’ experience working at The Brooksbank School, Mrs Puddephatt is now part of the Senior Leadership Team as Deputy Headteacher. With a focus on nurturing students into strong, independent, and resilient individuals through a dedicated emphasis on Personal Development, Mrs Puddephatt is committed to guiding students in developing the character and values necessary to excel in their futures and become the best versions of themselves.
Mrs Puddephatt says:
“Listening to our students is paramount, with Student Voice serving as a cornerstone in tailoring our support to meet their diverse needs. I recognise the crucial importance of the transition from Primary to Secondary education and I have established robust connections with feeder primary schools, facilitating a smooth transition to high school. Working with strong Assistant Heads, who lead across key areas of the school, develops our collaborative approach.'

Mr N Watkins, Assistant Headteacher
As an Assistant Head, with a particular focus on data, it is Mr Watkins’ responsibility to oversee assessment data across the school and plays a vital part in driving academic standards and improving outcomes for all students. Working closely with Faculty Leaders, he ensures that assessments are designed to meet curriculum requirements and effectively inform teaching and learning practices.

Mr D Ball, Assistant Headteacher
As Assistant Headteacher, Mr Ball collaborates closely with the inclusion team to ensure students reach their fullest potential within a nurturing environment. Ms J Nutter, Assistant Headteacher
As a member of the Quality of Education team, Ms Nutter’s role encompasses various responsibilities aimed at enhancing teaching and learning within the school. Mrs L Farley, Assistant Headteacher
Within the Quality of Education team, Mrs Farley’s role is dedicated to facilitating the growth and development of both educators and students alike. With a focus on supporting teachers in their daily practice, Mrs Farley oversees the coordination of initial teacher trainees and manage the early careers framework at Brooksbank. Additionally, she play a pivotal role in shaping an effective curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of our student body.
