I took advantage of the many extracurricular opportunities offered at Brooksbank. They helped me to develop my communication skills and enhanced my progression to university. I am currently working as a Design Co-ordinator at Waxman Energy, who are based in Elland.
Chad Bunney
My supportive teachers, encouraged me to explore my ideas and express myself through writing, and played a significant role in shaping my passion for the craft. I am an English and Drama teacher, currently teaching in Salford.
Gemma Hollas
After three years of high school teaching I wanted to develop my expertise in the Special Needs sector. I am now a support worker for adults with complex needs and Autism, which enables me to combine my love of drama and social care work. I lead drama and music sessions where adults can express their feelings, senses and emotions.
Lydia Robinson
I am currently living in Glasgow working for a land consultants company as a Project Geologist for the Geotechnical Team. Next year, I am planning to go back to university to complete a Masters Degree.
Bethany Tack
I enjoyed studying chemistry during my GCSEs, and found that it was interdisciplinary. I am now a Development Chemist at Keracol Limited, a spin-off company from the University of Leeds.
Charlotte Lumb
During my study of Sociology we covered Criminology which I particularly enjoyed. I enjoyed learning about why individuals are victimised and how society plays a part in victimisation. I joined the West Yorkshire Police as a PC after attaining my degree.
Tegan York
In the fast-paced environment of A&E, where every moment brought unknown challenges, captured my interest. This experience led me to explore paramedicine. I can honestly say it is incredibly rewarding, and I am excited for the rest of my career in this field.
Daniel J. Netherwood
Having previously held a position as a lecturer at the university of East Anglia, I am currently one of the lead researchers (formally a postdoctoral fellow) within the University of Adelaide's Dynamics and Modelling Research Group.
Adam Hind
After leaving Brooksbank, I attended Leeds Beckett University to continue my passion for Law. I extended my studies and began a Masters in Legal Practice and obtained the Pinsent Masons Award for Private Acquisitions. Fast-forward to now, and I am a trainee, specialising in construction law.
Liam Stapley
Having successfully completed my Masters of Physiotherapy (Sport and Exercise Medicine), I am now working at a private hospital as an Orthopaedic Physiotherapist.
Shania Hardcastle
After achieving a First Class BA in English Language, I am now working as Digital Marketing Officer for Barnardo’s, the children’s charity.
Charlie Jacobs
I now work in the Sales Department at Andy Thornton Ltd where I am able to fulfil my interests, which include working with interior designers and clients to supply furniture to the hospitality industry and other trade environments.
Isobel Warwick
My enjoyment of English was enhanced enormously by excellent teachers and fantastic opportunities. We saw numerous productions on-screen and live at the Globe Theatre, London.
Corinne Barker
Since graduating in 2023, I have started working at the Space Science Engineering Foundation (SSEF) as their Junior Programmes Director. SSEF are an education outreach charity, running industry simulation-based challenges for students, including the UK Space Design Competition, the Environmental Design Challenge and the Galactic Challenge.
Carly Bassinder
I studied Resistant Materials and Design Technology at GCSE and A Level and realised that I wanted to share my love of this subject with others. A career in teaching the subject was the best way for me to share my love, and I’ve never looked back.
Jack Booth
While I've always had a talent for Mathematics, I found myself unsure about which career path to pursue. Today, I am excited to be teaching Maths and sharing my love of the subject with my students.
Imogen Allison
Imogen graduated from the University of Bath while playing for Team Bath and was named Player of the Year in the 2021 Netball Superleague season. She was appointed Captain in 2022.
Ewan Horrocks
Appearances in Netflix’s The Last Kingdom and Seven Kings Must Die have taken me around the world from filming in Budapest and Hungary to premiers in the Paris Theatre, New York. Filming Sky Atlantic's Domina was an amazing experience; we spent eighteen months filming on location in Rome. I’ve also acted alongside such greats as Sean Bean.
Jack Marshall
During my days in Brooksbank Sixth Form, I had the opportunity to complete a summer internship at a small accountancy firm. I followed this up with a year-long placement in the Financial Department at P&G.
Freya Wheelwright
I now teach History at a secondary school in Leeds. It is incredibly rewarding to share my passion for the subject with young people and help them develop their critical thinking skills. It's important to me to ensure that my students learn about the past and how it shapes our present and future.
